Riding a bike ad you’re sure to meet

Many different people on any street.

Often they are big riders too;

In Duncan, B.C., this certainly held true.

It was at Duncan café and bakery

That Scott took a break and talked to me.

Upon seeing my bike and helmet in hand

Bike talk ensued, as usual, unplanned.

He struck a chord and made me smile

When he said he hadn’t a car in a long while.

He gave up driving almost forty years before

And since rides bikes more and more.

Seeing the world in a grain of sand

Happens naturally when biking over the land.

The pace allows for knowing intimately

All the contours, scents; all that we see.

The Scott’s worldview reflects how he lives

Reciprocates from what to the world he gives.

Walking, running, riding all prove true

That when we give, positive comes back to you.
